The school supports several types of extracurricular activities. These activities will build on language activities and STEAM courses offering to further develop core STEAM student competencies including Art and other skills required for the future within different sectors. These activities will be provided in classrooms through teachers, in language labs, and in the school’s STEAM Club. Activities will be designed with the learner in mind, fostering creativity, exploration, and incorporating pleasurable educational activities for English language, science and mathematics knowledge acquisition (as well as application and integration with other subject matter when appropriate). Students will be encouraged to participate in competitions outside the school such as Science competitions, Robotics, and Technology competitions. Students will learn to apply math and science concepts to real-world issues, develop writing, public speaking, problem solving, and time management skills, research and propose solutions to engineering challenges, discover different types of engineering and explore career options, learn how their communities work and become better citizens, and develop strong teamwork skills. These activities can be incorporated into the curriculum or as an after school project. Extracurricular activities will include also, after schools courses on communication skills, writing skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills. These extracurricular activities will assist with the identification of gifted students who have the aptitude and willingness to pursue higher levels of science and mathematics education.
